Right to Asylum | Universal Declaration of Human Rights
There Is Such a Thing As Society, was a curricular project focused on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The propose was to combine image, text, semantics and expression in a composition. I chose Article 14 which addresses the right of any person to seek and to benefit from asylum in another country.
Article 14.
(1) Everyone has the right to seek and to enjoy in other countries asylum from persecution.
(1) Everyone has the right to seek and to enjoy in other countries asylum from persecution.
(2) This right may not be invoked in the case of prosecutions genuinely arising from non-political crimes or from acts contrary to the purposes and principles of the United Nations.
The poster and the animation are both related, exploring the articulation between image and text. I intended to show through the barbed wire the armed conflicts of countries at war, which in the middle is surrounded by a silhouette of a house giving shelter for those who need it most. In the animation the sound plays an important role as it develops.
